Sunday, May 13th - Treasure
our Women
On this
Mother's Day we celebrate all the women of Mitchell Village Care Center who
we love as our own mothers and grandmothers. The women of Mitchell Village
will receive a corsage at lunch time. Everyone is welcome at 2 p.m. for a
"Women's Day" tribute followed by the First Congregational Church service at
3 p.m.
Monday, May
14th - Treasures of Our Youth
The
Fifth Grade from Mitchellville Elementary will be here to help us with a
balloon launch and a mini carnival for the residents (9:30-11:00). There
will be "Pirate Booty Bingo" in the afternoon at 2:30.
Tuesday, May 15th - Treasure Our Talents
Pirating
the Art Gallery will be in the morning when we "recreate" a painting without
using paints! (10:00) The afternoon will feature "Hidden Treasure's Talent
Show" with staff providing the...entertainment!
Wednesday, May 16th - Tapping the Talented
The
morning will start off with the 3rd and 4th graders from Mitchellville
Elementary entertaining us with a "treasure chest of puppetry" (9:30-11:00).
The afternoon the "Pirate's Booty" will be bingo-ed again. That evening,
we'll "shiver me timbers" as the Square Dancers (7 p.m.) entertain on the
gangplank.
Thursday,
May 17th - A-Hoy Mateys! It's Pirate Day
Staff and
residents will become "pirates" for a day (dress up day). Staff will
participate in a "Resident Treasure Hunt" where they have to find residents
based on clues given to them. They must complete the task to receive their
"Booty Bag of Goodies". Staff will be partaking in a pot luck lunch (meat
and drink provided 10:30 a.m.) while the residents dine on a pirate feast!
In the afternoon, resident's will enjoy watching staff-teams sail their
wheelchairs through an obstacle course.
Friday, May 18th - Find the Hidden
Treasures
From 8
a.m. to 6 p.m., everyone is invited to find hidden treasures at the
"Pirates' Cove Garage Sale" (across the street at 113 Carter St. SW). In the
afternoon, we've "kidnapped" the talents of Mike Lozano (2:00 p.m.)
Saturday, May 19th - Get Hooked!
This
weekend's movie is "Hook" - a story based on Peter Pan starring Robin
Willams.
